Aldea Day Adolescent Program for Treatment (A.D.A.P.T.) improves the emotional and academic functioning of special education-qualified high school students who have mental health challenges so they can graduate from high school or safely transition to a less restrictive academic environment.
In partnership with Napa Valley Unified School District (NVUSD), A.D.A.P.T. provides a highly structured therapeutic setting that couples classroom instruction with:
- Crisis intervention
- Behavior management
- Milieu therapy
- Psychiatry, including assessments and medication management
- Individual and group therapy
- Family therapy (as needed)
- Social and independent living skills support
- 24-hour emergency assistance
- Coordination of community resources (e.g., NVUSD, Napa County Office of Education, Napa County Health and Human Services, Napa County Probation, ParentsCAN, local therapists)
Eligibility
- High school students (9th through 12th grade) with Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and
- Referred by the NVUSD Special Education Local Plan Area
